Know Me a Lil’ More!
Hey, lovelies! ๐
I am Chioma, the heart, voice and creator of chiomacreates. a passionate creator who believes that creativity is a divine gift meant to make life richer and more meaningful.
I’m a fashion lover who enjoys mixing and matching simple pieces to create chic, formal and stylish outfits. To me, you don’t have to break the bank to look stylish, charming and gorgeously dressed. It’s about confidence, self-expression, and feeling good in what you wear and being creative with your cute pieces.
When it comes to home decor and organization, well… my friends call me “Chommy cho the Organizer.” ๐
Why? Because I notice every little detail. I love creating beautiful spaces and turning ordinary corners into cozy and inspiring places. Give me a room to organize, and I’ll probably have the time of my life doing it!
Above all, I love inspiring women to embrace their creativity, build confidence, and create a life they genuinely enjoy living.
Fun Facts About Me
If my mom’s jewelry breaks, she doesn’t panic. She simply says, “Chioma, come and create something with this old jewelry.” At this point, I’m basically the family’s unofficial jewelry rescue expert. ๐
I once traveled 4 whole hours just to organize my sister’s tiny school space. Was it necessary? Probably not. Did I enjoy every second of it? Absolutely! ๐
Around here, whenever someone hears that I’m the one who arranged, organized, or kept something, the next thing they say is, “Don’t touch it o! Chioma will know!” And honestly… they’re right. ๐
As a teenager,ย I was busy creating school project crafts for children in my neighborhood for free! Cars, houses, mirrors, footwear… name them. Parents loved me, teachers loved me, and the children got A+ projects. Everybody won!
When I decided to learn cornrows, I recruited my sisters as volunteer models. Thankfully, they survived the experienceโand the hairstyles actually turned out beautiful! ๐
And don’t get me started on nails. One day, I walked into a beauty store, bought nail products came home, fixed my younger sister’s nails, and somehow nailed it (pun intended ๐). She loved them!
So yes, you can call me Chommy the Creative Explorer.
ย What’s My Story?
If there’s one thing that has always defined me, it’s my hunger for creativity.
Growing up, I was always making something. I didn’t always have professional training, expensive materials, or a step-by-step guide to follow, but that never stopped me. I’ve always been the type of person who learns by trying, experimenting, making mistakes, and trying again.
Back in 2020,ย I challenged myself to create a locs wig, a curly wig, organic soap, and beautiful beaded jewelry sets all without the guidance of any professional.
The funny thing is, I had no idea those creations would become one of the biggest confidence boosts of my life.
My mom proudly wore the wig and jewelry I made to work, and before long, her colleagues started asking where she got them from. When they discovered that I was the one behind them, some of them requested that I make theirs too.
For the first time, I realized that creativity could do more than bring me joy, it could create value for others too. Seeing people appreciate something I had made with my own hands gave me a new level of confidence and showed me that creativity could actually be profitable.
Looking back, those early projects taught me one of the most important lessons of my life, you don’t always need expertise to begin, sometimes all you need is the courage to start.
After graduating from high school, many children in my neighborhood would bring their school projects to me to create from scratch. Using cartons and simple materials, I created houses, cars, televisions, mobile phones, footwear, and many other creative models.
At the time, I didn’t think much of it. But looking back now, I realize those moments were quietly shaping the creative person I’ve become today.
My faith has also played a huge role in my journey. I believe God gives each of us unique gifts, and creativity is one of the gifts He has placed in my life.
How It All Started!
